First things first, let’s talk about the most vital part of strapon play – the equipment.  There is a near limitless amount of options and variations available, but what you choose in a toy should most certainly be directly related to what you want to use it for.  Here we will discuss the equipment basics….

ATTACHMENT / LOCK

Vacuum or Vac-U-Lock

Vac-U-Lock is a patented design used by Doc Johnson.  The harness has a small protruding plug, and each dildo has a hollow in the base where the plug fits in, and thus it stays secure through vacuum suction.  These are quite sturdy as far as not falling off, however there’s not a lot of option availability unfortunately.

Ring or O-Ring

HARNESSES

With a multitude of different styles, choosing a harness can be a difficult task.  A harness can be made of webbing, leather, PU leather, plastic, or material, so personal preference, practicality and comfort are probably the most important things to consider when choosing the right harness for your needs.  Factors like does it feel comfortable for the wearer, is it easily cleaned, and will it need to fit just one dildo or more than one size?   Taking all that into consideration, there are a few basic types of harnesses available:

Two Strap Harness

These have a strap that secures around the waist like a belt, and another that strap that goes between the wearers legs, like a g-string.  The are a very simple form of harness, some have an O ring to fit the dildos in, either static or adjustable, whilst others have the dildo built in so that you cannot change it.   These harnesses are a bit less secure than other types, they sometimes rub between the legs, or can make the dildo flop.

Three Strap Harness

Like the Two Strap Harness, they have a strap that secures around the waist like a belt, but they have two more straps, each one goes around each thigh and securing back around the front.  These have the same options – usually an O ring for securing the dildo, or a static dildo that is built in.  Similar issues such as rubbing or slipping can occur, and not everyone finds this type of harness comfortable to wear.

Corset Harness

DILDOS

There are so many different sizes and styles of dildo out there that, for the inexperienced, the choice can be overwhelming.
